Boxing club (Stonehill)

Description

I have been the head of the boxing club at Stonehill International for over 9 months. Hands down, it has been one of the most phenomenal experiences in my life, coaching students as individuals and groups has really taught me a lot. Coming here twice a week and training students is something I really enjoy because you can physically see the results of your work. Changing how a person looks and feels about himself is really rewarding. Seeing the students’ progress from when I first started training them is truly astonishing. The form, punch power, accuracy, footwork, defensive movements, all of them have come such a long way. My policy in this class is, “learning by doing”, Confucius once said, “I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.” Any punch, any combination, any technique, I will first demonstrate it and then pair them up with each other so they can practice and master it. As of now, my goal is to get them to take part in a boxing tournament and get them certified as amateur boxers.
